FILM SYNOPSIS

Nicky and Sonya, a mother-daughter duo, come to terms with their cultural identity. Nicky is an international fashion design student in college who has conformed to American society and cultural norms. However, when her high-spirited mother Sonya visits from India, Nicky comes face-to-face with the heritage she denies. Sonya is the physical embodiment of everything Nicky ran away from. Together, the duo navigates their relationship through moments of fun and drama.

COSTUME DESIGN

The Indo-Western dress represents the film’s exploration of personal identity in the face of societal pressures and Indian-American cultural nuances. The design features hand-wrapped wire details, traditional lehenga construction, and a reworked dupatta.
